What activities are available at Garden Homes?

Group activities are planned to keep residents active and healthy!  The clubhouse is the center for most activities.  All residents are invited to participate.

Weekly Activities:

  • A coffee is hosted each Wednesday by the clubhouse manager. Residents are invited to socialize and partake of refreshments before short meeting where they hear of upcoming activities, news and humor.  Visitors are always welcome! Meeting notes are distributed via email so residents won’t miss a thing if they can’t make it.
  • Bridge is played twice a week in the game room.
  • Scrabble is played once a week.
  • Low impact exercise classes designed for seniors two to three times a week hosted by a resident.

Monthly Activities:

  • Resident Group Dinner is planned for the third Friday with a different theme each month.  There is an extra cost for those attending. Some dinners are catered by a variety of local food providers, some are pot-luck.  Example dinner themes include:  Mexican Fiesta, Saint Patrick Day, Fourth of July Picnic & Fireworks (i.e., fireworks hosted by the City of Bentonville across the street in Memorial Park).
  • First Friday Movie Night schedules movies available using Blu Ray/DVD’s or streaming services (e.g., Netflix, Amazon Prime) using the clubhouse’s new large T.V. and sound system.
  • The Book Club meets in the library once a month to discuss a selected book.

As Available:

  • Programs are presented during the coffee meetings on Wednesday that cover a wide variety of topics within the community. There are typically a program is scheduled each month.
  • Group Lunch at one of the local restaurants.
  • Craft classes are offered.

Ongoing:

  • Our Fitness Center has been equipped to help our residents stay healthy and fit. Equipment includes:  treadmill, rower, upright bike, step machine, weights, etc.
  • Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Orchard Park and Memorial Park (immediately across the street) offer trails for walking, running or biking.
  • Orchard Park offers a dog park and a children’s playground.

Can I use the Clubhouse for a personally hosted event?

Residents may schedule the clubhouse to use as an extension of their own living room.  Example events include:  birthday parties, concerts, community organization events.
